St. Gerald Catholic Church

CLIENT: St. Gerald Catholic Church
LOCATION: Ralston, NE
ARCHITECT: BCDM

Lund-Ross constructed a new worship facility for the St. Gerald Catholic Church in Ralston, Neb. The highly visible church is located at the busy intersection of 96th and Q streets.

A new 24,000-square-foot structure was built around the original 5,000-square-foot church. The new sanctuary features a unique roofing system of glulam timber trusses. The trusses are approximately 16 feet tall and over 65 feet long and created challenges for construction crews. Timber trusses were assembled on the ground and carefully installed with cranes.

Lund-Ross successfully completed the new facility for St. Gerald Catholic Church on time and within the Church’s specified budget. The project was honored with an award from the Timber Institute for its unique use of glulam trusses.
