Metropolitan Community College: Mule Barn - Building 21

Lund-Ross completed a large-scale renovation of Building 21 on the Omaha north campus of Metropolitan Community College (Metro). Originally built as a mule barn, the building served as a work shop for Metro trade schools and survived a series of fires in the years prior to the renovation.

Crews gutted the structure and soda blasted the interior to remove dirt and grime. Original brick and wood beam framing was exposed and restored by Lund-Ross, as were the building’s original window frames. New window panes were chosen to match the originals, and the windows were installed to make the structure more energy-efficient. New heating and cooling systems were installed, and new classrooms and offices were built into the former mule barn.

Lund-Ross completed the renovation of Building 21 for Metro Community College on time in May 2010.
