Learning Community Center of North Omaha

CLIENT: Omaha Economic Development Corporation (OEDC)
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
ARCHITECT: RDG Planning & Design

Lund-Ross served as the Construction Manager at Risk for the new Learning Community Center of North Omaha. The early childhood education center houses the first north Omaha location for the Learning Community, as well new offices for Educare of Omaha and Metropolitan Community College.

Lund-Ross broke ground on the 20,000-square-foot building on the corner of 24th and Franklin streets in November 2013. The two-story main vestibule and hallways lead to classrooms, offices, conference rooms, a shared kitchen, and an indoor play area. Lund-Ross completed separate finishes for the three building tenants, and an advanced audio/visual system was installed throughout the state-of-the-art facility.

Sustainable construction techniques were incorporated throughout the project. To minimize the building’s impact on surrounding land, an underground chamber was constructed beneath the building to collect and slowly release stormwater runoff.

Lund-Ross completed the new Learning Community Center of North Omaha in 12 months.
