El Museo Latino

CLIENT: El Museo Latino
LOCATION: Omaha, NE
ARCHITECT:  Alley Poyner Macchietto

Lund-Ross was selected to work with El Museo Latino and Alley Poyner Macchietto architects in early 2023 to assist in establishing budgets and consult on a variety of construction challenges with the historic building.

The project kicked-off in Summer of 2023 with major structural work beneath each wing of the ‘U’ shaped building. A tedious and challenging process led by superintendent Lonnie Kates. The project updated and expanded the galleries, added classrooms, and provided additional studio and storage space while updating plumbing, electrical and structural elements of the historic building.

The museum remained operational through much of the process and the site sits at a very busy intersection in South Omaha requiring a great amount of planning and coordination with the project team. El Museo Latino is ‘committed to strengthening the artistic and creative culture of the Greater Omaha Area through the presentation of Latino arts’ and Lund-Ross is grateful to contribute to this important organization.
