Lund-Ross Completes Final Project for NoDo Development

American Apparel Opens in Saddle Creek Records Complex

Omaha, Neb., September 2008 – Lund-Ross Constructors completed a project for the final retailer to move into the new Saddle Creek Records development. Built by Lund-Ross, the multi-use complex encompasses two buildings and approximately 60,000 square feet. The Saddle Creek Records development gained national attention as a major factor in the successful expansion of downtown Omaha.

Lund-Ross completed the finishes for national clothing retailer American Apparel in September. Omaha’s first location of American Apparel moved into a 3,600 square foot commercial bay in the Saddle Creek development. The store joins local coffee bar Blue Line Coffee and Urban Outfitters, also a national clothing brand, in the north building.

The development has an industrial look with open ceilings and sealed concrete floors. The south building includes offices for Saddle Creek Records, its distribution warehouse and the music venue/bar Slowdown. The 470-capacity rock club features a sunken listening area in front of the stage, clear sight lines throughout the venue's two floors and a free jukebox. Slowdown was chosen as the 2008 Club of the Year by Esquire Magazine. Film Streams, a groundbreaking film theater, and two live/work units are also housed in the south building.

Lund-Ross also constructed seven more apartments on the upper floors of the north building. The loft-style units feature open floor plans, sealed concrete floors, sliding warehouse doors and balconies. See photos of the Saddle Creek Records development here.
