Lund-Ross Wins Excellence in Construction Awards
The Brandeis, P.E. Iler Building Receive Top Honors

Omaha, Neb., February 11, 2010 – Lund-Ross Constructors was honored with multiple awards at the 14th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards ceremony on Feb. 11 in Lincoln, Neb. The Brandeis Building and the P.E. Iler Building, both completed by Lund-Ross in 2009, were chosen as the region’s outstanding historical restoration projects.
Lund-Ross took over a failed redevelopment of the Brandeis Building in downtown Omaha in 2008, and completed an $18.3-million renovation in less than a year. Lund-Ross built over 120 apartments, renovated the lower levels into commercial space, renovated the Brandeis Food Court and built a basement parking garage. Project highlights included the restoration of original architectural elements like Corinthian columns and marble and terrazzo floors and the completion of over $300,000 of historic plaster restoration.
Lund-Ross overcame a series of design changes and project delays to complete a $7-million historical restoration of the P.E. Iler Building in Omaha’s Old Market district. Lund-Ross built 22 luxury residences into the six-story brick building warehouse, and a new seven-story elevator tower and underground parking garage. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) construction techniques were incorporated into the project plans, and sustainable finishes like water-conserving plumbing fixtures and bamboo flooring were installed throughout the P.E. Iler Building.
The annual Excellence in Construction Awards honor the region’s best construction projects and are hosted by the Cornhusker Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). ABC represents over 25,000 member companies in 77 chapters as an advocate for the merit shop philosophy of high-quality construction at competitive rates.
