Lund-Ross Receives Safety Awards

Named One of the “Safest” Companies for Second Year in a Row

Omaha, Neb., May 21, 2009 – Lund-Ross Constructors was named one of the Omaha metro area’s “safest companies” by the Greater Omaha Chapter of the National Safety Council (NSC) for the second year in a row. The Lund-Ross Safety Council received a gold honor award for safety at the 2009 Safety and Health Summit on May 13, 2009, at the Qwest Center Omaha.

Lund-Ross employees’ strict adherence to the Lund-Ross Safety Program resulted in zero accidents, and the National Safety Council presented the company with a 2008 Perfect Record Award. NSC works to reduce both the personal and economic loss associated with injuries, accidents and health hazards.

The Lund-Ross Safety Program was also honored as one of the nation’s best by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).  Lund-Ross received ABC’s highest safety designation, a Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) Platinum Award for 2009. Lund-Ross is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors, which represents over 24,000 contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers.

Lund-Ross employees were recognized for their personal safety records at the Lund-Ross President’s Awards in April 2009: Dick Kates, 19 years; Joe Sykora, 16 years; Chris Parks and Rip Rempel, ten years; Tony Bles and Jim Larsen, five years; Jose Galeno, four years; and Jim Weeks, three years.

The Lund-Ross Safety Committee is working in 2009 to continue to improve the company safety program. Comprised of Lund-Ross employees, the safety committee meets quarterly to assess the safety program’s components and effectiveness and make improvements.
