“This was the first time the College has used the construction manager at risk contracting model, and the results were a resounding success. The team led by Lund-Ross and Jackson-Jackson & Associates worked smoothly and cooperatively to deliver a top-notch facility on time and under budget.”

Peru Jindra Fine Arts Building

Lund-Ross completed a renovation of the Jindra Fine Arts Building on the Peru State College campus in Peru, Neb. The 25,000-square-foot structure was originally built by the college in the 1960s and had grown outdated.

Lund-Ross oversaw the interior demolition of the Jindra Fine Arts Building, including the two-story recital hall. Crews removed one-third of the building’s roof, and the ceiling was raised to improve acoustics in the new hall. New offices, music practice rooms, a new recording studio, and an elevator and stair tower addition were built, and ADA upgrades and renovations were completed by Lund-Ross.

Green building and energy-efficient techniques and products were used throughout the building. Geothermal heating and improved windows were installed, and 3-inch-thick rigid insulation was applied to the existing exterior walls. Lund-Ross installed LED light fixtures and daylight tubes that feature automatic dimmable ballasts to maintain light levels and save energy.

The renovation of the Jindra Fine Arts Building was completed on schedule in June 2011. The renovation was named the region’s Project of the Year by Associated Builders and Contractors at the 2012 Excellence in Construction Awards and received national accolades at the national Excellence in Construction Awards in 2013.
