The renovation project created 16,500 square feet of new space, including a large sanctuary, choir loft,
church offices and an open gathering/circulation space. The Morning Star Baptist Church facility was left partially
completed almost 20 years ago, making construction a challenge. The unfinished structure was left open to
the elements, and the interior was saturated with soils and tall weeds. Lund-Ross stabilized the existing,
unfinished structure, and the project was honored with a 2004 Excellence in Construction Award from ABC.
