Details

Lund-Ross Constructors constructed a new concourse and entrance for the south lobby of the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The structure’s entire front plaza area was rebuilt to allow for easier access for patrons and to maintain a cohesive aesthetic between the new and old sections of the Civic Auditorium. All auditorium activities continued during construction, and portions of the existing south entrance remained in use. The safety of the auditorium patrons was a top priority, requiring close coordination with management regarding the events schedule and exit requirements. The new south lobby entrance was awarded an Architectural Honor Award by the American Institute of Architects in 1998 for distinguished accomplishment in design excellence.
