Details
The new 20,500-square foot Union Pacific Child Development Center was completed in 2005 after
just nine months of construction. Poor soil conditions required the installation of geopiers to
strengthen the foundation. The building was constructed with a mixture of structural steel, wood
timbers, and masonry, and a combination of textures, finishes, and colors were used throughout.
The Cornhusker Chapter of Associated Buildean Excellence in Construction award in 2005.
